ResiPass PM-WANI is a transformative initiative under the Central Government’s Prime Minister Wi-Fi Access Network Interface (PM-WANI) scheme. It aims to accelerate the expansion of wireless internet connectivity across India by setting up Public Wi-Fi Hotspots in a decentralized, scalable, and affordable manner.
The core objective of PM-WANI is to empower every citizen by providing easy, reliable, and high-speed internet access in public spaces. By enabling small shopkeepers, entrepreneurs, and local vendors to become Wi-Fi providers (called Public Data Offices – PDOs), the scheme not only promotes digital inclusion but also opens up new avenues for income generation and employment at the grassroots level.
Through ResiPass PM-WANI, local communities can benefit from:
• Seamless internet access for students, workers, and the general public
• Strengthening of the Digital India mission
• Increased digital literacy and opportunities for e-learning, e-commerce, and telemedicine
• Enhanced digital infrastructure in rural and semi-urban areas
ResiPass is committed to supporting the PM-WANI ecosystem by simplifying access, promoting adoption, and enabling last-mile connectivity. This initiative represents a significant step forward in making internet access truly universal, affordable, and inclusive for all Indians.
